Reeally what you should do is set the port speed to the highest possible rate the the chip will support. If you have a UART 16550, then go ahead and set it to 38400 (or even 56700??) Remember that a 14400 modem will do compression and the such, and I have HEARD (never seen) that on good days, when the moon is right, and so on, you _might_ get a throughput rate of 56kB. I run mine at 38400 with a UART 16550, and it works just fine. Jan vilhuber@cs.colorado.edu ------------------------------ From: cmay@titan.ucs.umass.edu (Christopher M. I have some problems also with the sound: I have been said that there is no music only effects (to confirm) In fact, I just hear garbage. The pixel doubling, tripling, etc blur the window. When using the Ctrl-Key (FIRE) at the same time than the arrows, I switch to the other rooms (screens). The only way out of this is to run Olwm instead of fvwm or others mwm like. The network part seems to not be compatible with SGIxdoom. Hope it will be in the future. I patched my registered version 1.2 to 1.666 but the file is not recognized by linuxxdoom.
