Hey, everyone. I'm Sun Yue. Thanks to Mr. Winter's recommendation on my video journey of learning English and old age in the community. I get a chance to share some thoughts on using enjoy to learn spoken English. big thanks, Susan for the invite and encouragement. I remember six months ago. My friend Ben asked me to share, but said nothing to share. First, I'm pretty shy and second, I felt embarrassed because I'm just someone who has my low learning ability Well. Susan's invitation gave me the courage to share here.

家好,我叫程跃,因为文韬老师在社群中推荐了我的视频《高龄英语学习之旅》,因此才有机会在这里给大家分享使用 enjoy 学习口语的一些感悟。感谢Susan老师的邀请和鼓励记得半年前卞卡大哥让我做分享我说没啥好分享的一是比较内向二是确实惭愧我就是个装成学霸的学渣而已。 Susan 老师的热情邀请使我鼓起勇气在此分享。

My main job is a graphic designer and illustrator. Here's some of my works. right now, I'm a full time stay and home parent. As for what old age means. We'll discuss that later.

我的本职工作是一名平面设计/插画师。这些是我的一些作品。目前全职在家带娃。至于这个高龄到底是多高,我们后面详说······

I want to learn to sing it. I listened and stand alone or 486 times. I don't understand Spanish. but it didn't matter. I found the lyrics in fatic transcription and practice hard. The show in the picture.

The hardest song to sing is E Chen's love transfer on latest music, Qq music and Apple music. I signed it over 700 times only recently. I feel like I can finally sing it smoothly.

最难唱的还得是陈奕迅的《爱情转移》,网易云、 QQ 音乐、 apple music加起来可能唱了 700 多遍,最近才感觉似乎可以流畅演绎

I remember D Xiai once said the Ci Jian would send some signs of a time in the studio. So as the old saying goes, practice makes perfect.

记得笑来老师曾经说过,崔健一首歌会在录音棚唱上千遍。所以,还是那句古话,无他,唯手熟尔。

Starting to learn English from scratch in my 30s. What does 30s mean exactly, I was born in 1986 and began reading Everyone can use English in 2019. So I was 3. even so, I gave up a few times because I wasn't a good student.

I started by memorizing 10 words a day. The increased to 50. I kept forgetting and relen them By 2020, I finally finished my first book in English. The 21 success secrets itself made millionair years, even though the words grammar and sentences were simple and easy to understand, it still took me a lot of time.

从每天背 10 个单词,到每天背 50 个单词,背了又忘,忘了又背。折腾到 2020 年我终于看完了第一本原版书《The 21 Success Secrets of Self-Made Millionaires》——哪怕是用词、语法、句子非常简单直白、通俗易懂就是写给没文化的大众看的我也花了不少时间

I started my original books on Amazon in 2021. My vocabulary isn't enough. My grammar isn't perfect, and I don't get tough academic concepts. I have to look things up, which makes reading slow and experience pretty bad.

2021 年开始在亚马逊上买原版书,词汇量不够、语法不完善、以及艰深的学术概念是真不懂,得现查,阅读缓慢,导致体验很差。

By 2022, I was struggling and almost give up again. I only practice English every now and then. But when I reading Chinese books, I noticed my reading and comprehension speed improved. I knew this was because of learning English.

啃到 2022 年,我又一次开始放弃,隔三差五的才会练习一下英语,但在读中文书的时候,我能明显感觉到我的阅读速度、理解速度加快了。我知道这是学习英语给我带来的效果。

By 2023, my speed in reading original books has slightly improved. thanks to the child GT. Check grammar examples and new words has become much easier. Reading now feels a bit more enjoyable. As for listening, speaking, reading and writing my listening skills are poor. and writing in English is out of question. when it comes to speaking. I sometimes read along with audible. But since I really speak. you can imagine the results. I can keep up with the native speaks pace.

到了 2023 年,阅读原版书的速度稍稍快了些,由于 ChatGPT 的出现查语法、查例句、查生词变得轻松许多在阅读上感觉终于有了一些快感。听说读写听力很差英语写作是不可能的至于“说”偶尔跟着audible朗读但对于很少开口说的人效果可想而知根本就跟不上人家原声朗读的速度。

Until Xiao Lai started English book cap early this year, I didn't really put my heart into it at first .

直到笑来老师开始了今年年初的英语拉练。但就这,在最初也没用心。

Because I was taking care of my baby full time and handling various tasks and home on outside in the first half of the year. I couldn't keep up with She and first and couldn only practice sporadically. It wasn't until early May when a few friends and I formed the group to keep each other accountable that I started intense and consistent training since I had to many choice during the day. I usually begin training at 10 PM finish around 1,30 AM. This is my tracking record in the group. showing a total of over 60 training days. 😔

因为全职带娃,且上半年忙着处理各种家里家外事务,在最开始没有跟上笑来的步伐,断断续续地练一练。直到 5 月初,我们几个战友组了群,互相监督,我才开始高强度、持续性的训练。因为白天杂事太多,我一般在晚上 10 点开始训练所以训练结束就到了凌晨1点半。这是我在群里的打卡记录可以看到总训练天数加起来是 50 多天。

So, actually, I've been used in drawing up for about 3 to four hours every day for almost two months in just this few months. thanks to the magic of enjoying up. I feel like I' made huge progress.

所以事实上用enjoy持续性、不间断每天 3 4 小时的口语塑造可能有将近 2 个月,但就这几个月,因为 enjoy的神奇我竟然感觉自己突飞猛进。

Sir came up with the idea of recording videos in English. The final video is the test and showcase of each English learning session.

于是有了用英语口播短视频的想法,视频成片是对每一次英语学习的最终历练以及成果展示。

How do you use enjoy up correctly to me, the best thing about enjoy up is breaking down tasks. Actually, all we need to do is just break down tasks and toggle them one by one.

那到底如何正确使用 enjoy在我看来enjoy最牛之处在于拆分任务。事实上我们所要做的其实也只是“拆分任务”逐个击破。

50b5e2cd-7eaa-4cd3-a421-9bc6220e1989.mp3

The enjoying up can break down the whole practice passage into sentences. Each sentence can be split into words and words. Well, you can break them into formula yourself. What I find most useful is that you can select multiple adjacent words to check their connectedive speech . Connect speech is really important for fluent pronunciation.

enjoy可以把一整段练习内容拆分为一个个句子每一个句子又可以拆分为一个个单词而单词嘛可以靠你自己把它拆分为音素我觉得对我最有用的竟然是还可以勾选多个相邻单词查看连读发音因为连读对于是否流利发音真的很重要。

a410643a-c9d7-44ce-bbfe-bde6bf53835c.mp3

A lot of people don't break tasks down. The machine says they once. they repeat once. but when facing a sentence with unfeing words, connect speech or complex grammar, you have to break down and toggle each part. If you lazyly repeat after machine, no matter how many times you practice, you wanna help.

很多人不拆分任务,机器说一遍,他跟着说一遍。事实上面对一个有陌生单词、有连读部分、有复杂语法结构的句子,只能拆分之后,逐一突破,如果偷懒地机器念一遍,你跟着说一遍,哪怕练再多次,也没用。

50c264c6-3a52-4685-9c8b-4ffa3da0a95f.mp3

Our brains can grasp all the detail and first break it down, then break it down again, pick out the connected parts and listen to them separatelyly, practice them about 10 times, highlight the new words and listen to them separatelyly. practice them about 10 times. even break down to the phone level and practice them about 10 times. At this point, you can start reverse engineering. combine the familiar parts into phrases and combine phrases into sentences. and finally, combine the sentences into paragraphs. This way, you can smoothly read out your world prepare article.

因为我们的大脑在最初根本就无法掌握全部细节。拆分拆分再拆分,连读的部分勾选出来单独听,练个十几遍,生词勾选出来单独听,练个十几遍,甚至拆分为音素级别,再练个十几遍。到这一步,就可以开始“逆向操作”,练熟悉的部分组合成短语,短语组合成整句,整句再组合成段落,进而才能真正流畅地念出你生成好的文章。

810892fb-9890-42d6-9b5c-e7aa6af5b78e.mp3

Usually, it might take me half an hour to an hour to read the sentence fluently.

通常一句话的熟练朗读,可能需要花半小时、一小时。

699cbdb0-0231-41bd-8a89-5ece00052762.mp3

At this point, my true nature as a poor student showed, I started getting restless when I gave restless . my brain wanted to save energy. Why bother practicing was what my brain often told me I knew from many failures that they thought was dead. It was usually started me giving up.

这时候学渣的本性就暴露出来了,开始变得浮躁,一浮躁,大脑就想节能,“没事你练它干啥?”,是我大脑最常对我说的话,我知道在经历过多次失败的教训后,这句话是非常致命的,往往是我放弃的开始。

182dbeb2-d31f-4e0b-8f30-078cf86e7542.mp3

First, let me add something about the beginner's English journey for older adults. What does beginner means here. Well, because I didn't study hard. I only have a associate degree. and associate degree means I didn't really learn or grow much. It means I'm stuck at a high school level. and I didn't study well in high school either. So you see, my English level was almost zero and at start.

这里得插一句,关于“高龄(零基础)英语之旅”,这个“零基础”,怎么理解呢?这么说吧,由于不好好读书,我的学历是大专。大专意味着基本没有学习和成长,意味着我停留在高中水平,而高中我又没好好学习。所以,你看,我的英语水平在最开始,几乎接近于零。

2769fd87-39ac-43d3-8e8a-40cac44507b8.mp3

So as an adult who's always struggle in school, I know the method. but my biggest problem is stick with them. I don't want to spend time and my attention wanders. even if my brain knows what's good and how to do it, he doesn't help. Years of habits don't change overnight.

所以对于一个已然成年的学渣来说,方法也懂,但最大的问题是无法坚持,不肯花时间,注意力涣散。哪怕大脑皮层知道什么是好的,应该怎么怎么做,也没用。多年的习惯不是说改就改。

So a 30 year old guy with little education and almost no English can train to speak decently a few months . Can this inspire others. I should mention I sing English song pretty well. But that's justing the words and sentences are simple. I think most people can sing well. After listening to English song a few times.

一个 38 岁高龄、低学历、英语近乎零基础的家伙能在几个月内训练出还算不错的口语。这能否给大家一些激励呢?需要说明的是,我英文歌唱得很溜,但,那毕竟是唱歌,单词简单,句子简单,我觉得大多数人听英文歌磨耳朵也能唱好。

d468b75d-fe61-4e5f-a1da-c4468fc38ea6.mp3

I can stick to things, too, especially working out. I've been doing a strange training for years, lifting heavy weights in my peak in 2021. I weight 67 kilos and could bench10 kilos, scored hundred15 kilos, and they left hundred60 kilos after 2022. I start running because going to gym every day took a lot of time. and I had to take care baby. Now, I run about 200 km a month.

我也有能够坚持的时候就是锻炼身体。我常年撸铁训练重量很大2021 年“巅峰时期”,我 67kg 的体重,卧推 100kg深蹲 130kg硬拉 160kg2022 后开始跑步,因为每天去健身房确实挺花时间——还得带娃呢。现在保持月跑量在 200 公里左右。

Xia often says on brains network is interconnect with no isolated island. How well built advanced neural networks can be spill into local networks, which can be used for other brain activity. I totally get it. Strs training are running are also painful. Endorphins are released after work. When I think I can go on. I always till my brain. One more cent two more reps one more mile than rest. Checking my brain. You really believe it. And suddenly, I can keep going.

笑来老师说我们的大脑网络四通八达,没有孤岛,构建好的高级神经网络可以拆分为“局域网”,而局域网又可以用到其他的大脑活动中去。我感同身受,力量训练和跑步的过程其实也痛苦,内啡肽是过后才分泌的,当闪过坚持不下去的念头时,我总是跟自己的大脑说,再来一组,再来两个,再跑一公里,然后休息。欺骗自己的大脑,大脑是真信了,瞬间变得可以继续下去。

5ccd5e37-67e4-484e-b67c-9ab887186cab.mp3

This trigger brain message still works for speaking practice. The enjoy up breaks tasks down, giving your brain certainty. You know the tasks and limit and will end. Even if you can finish, Tell your brain just one more sentence. your brain will agree after that sentence. to another one.

“欺骗大脑“这种方法在口语训练上依然奏效,由于 enjoy 可以把任务拆分,这就给了大脑确定性,任务就这么多,做完就结束,哪怕是做不完,跟自己的大脑说,再练一句就结束,大脑就会同意,然后练完这一句,再来一句······

For years, I was used to sign English and didn't dare to speak. But with enjoying up, my speaking skills improved a lot of just a few months. I realized again, many things are just do it. As long as you start, there chance to improve. Even if learned the hard way is much better than not study at all. If you have handy tools like enjoy up and guidance like one sound age. anyone can use English. Here's a clip my pronunciation. When I first study using enjoy up.

从多年来已经习惯于哑巴英语压根不敢开口说到用enjoy 使得口语突飞猛进,竟然只用了短短几个月,我又一次深刻感悟:很多事情“做就是了”,只要开始,就有进步的机会,哪怕生学硬练,也比不起步强太多。如果身边还有趁手的工具——比如 enjoy以及方法论指导——比如《1000H》人人都能把英语用起来。给大家看一段我刚开始用 enjoy 时的口语发音。

Over the years, thanks to constant mental coaching from a teacher Xiao Lai, I've developed some illusionions . So what if I older, So what if I like formal education, If I want to do something, nothing is possible . It just takes time.

感谢这几年来笑来老师不断地做各种心里建设,我多多少少产生了一些“幻觉”,高龄又如何?低学历又如何?只要想做,没有什么搞不定,花时间而已。

Lily, I started using audible while running, even though my listening skills aren't great. and I don't understand much, I still push it through. Eventually, I will get it. while listening, I came across a few motivational chs.

最近跑步时开始听有声书,哪怕听力不行,听不太懂,也“硬听”,总会听懂的。听的时候,发现几句“鸡汤”。
