Similarly, deleting users can be accomplished with the commands
|

<tt>userdel</tt> or <tt>deluser</tt> depending on what software was
|
|
installed on the system.

If you'd like to temporarily ``disable'' a

user from logging into the system (without deleting the user's account),

you can simply prepend an asterisk (``<tt>*</tt>'') to

the password field in <tt>/etc/passwd</tt>. For example, changing <tt>kiwi</tt>'s
|
|
<tt>/etc/passwd</tt> entry to
|
|
