Before you can use the system, you must set up a user account
|
|
for yourself. This is because it's usually not a good idea to use the
|
|
<tt>root</tt> account for normal use. The <tt>root</tt> account should
|
|
be reserved for running privileged commands and for maintaining the
|
|
system, as discussed in Section <A HREF="node156.html#sechats">4.1</A>.
|
|

|
|
In order to create an account for yourself, you need to login as
|
|
<tt>root</tt> and use the <tt>useradd</tt> or <tt>adduser</tt> command. See
|
|
Section <A HREF="node166.html#secadduser">4.4</A> for information on this procedure.
